Company history

1927
Miura Manufacturing Co. got its start in 1927 in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, as a manufacturer and vendor of wheat and rice hulling equipment.

Adopting the company motto
1959
With 2 million yen in operating capital, Miura (Tamotsu Miura, CEO) establishes itself as a manufacturer of all types of boilers and wheat and rice hulling equipment.
1960
Production of small flow-through boilers begins.  
1967
Production of auxiliary boilers for ships begins.  
1968
Company motto adopted: "Making the least expensive, highest quality boilers in the world".  
1971
Production of chemicals for boilers begins.  
1972
Launch of the "ZMP" contract system (3-year guarantee including maintenance and management)  
1974
Commercialization of MI (multiple tank installation) system begins.
 
1978
Company's registered name is changed to Miura Co., Ltd.
Production of medical sterilization equipment begins.
 
1982
Investment begins in Miura Co., Ltd. of Korea.
Public stock offering is made on the 2nd section of the Osaka Stock Exchange.
 
1984
Public stock offering is made on the 2nd section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.  
1986
Miura commences sales of food processing equipment.  
1987
Company motto "Pioneering techno-services for the future" adopted.
Miura Boiler Co., Ltd. (Canada) established.

1988
Investment begins in Miura Co., Ltd. of Taiwan.
1989
Launch of on-line maintenance
Company stock promoted to the first section of both the Tokyo and Osaka Stock Exchanges.
Miura commences sales of deoxidation equipment.
1992
Establishment of the Miura Institute of Environmental Science.
 
1993
Investment begins in Miura Co., Ltd. of Shanghai.
Company motto "Winning the customer's trust with cutting-edge techno-services" adopted.
Company target: "Providing new technologies for heat and water".
 
1996
Miura commences sales of home water softening equipment.
 
1999
ISO9001 designation awarded to the development and production departments of the main plant, and to the management and maintenance departments of the Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka offices.  
2001
Miura Institute of Environmental Science receives approval for ISO/IEC 17025.
Company motto: "Creating the optimum partnership of heat, water and environment in the evolution of techno-services".
 
2002
Miura commences sales of small dioxin-controlled incinerators and on-air maintenance.  
2004
Miura Protech, Ltd. and Miura International, Ltd. established.
Miura Industrial Equipment Inc. (Suzhou) established in China.
