MIURA Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Matsuyama, Ehime, President: Yuji Takahashi) and Tepia Corporation Japan (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka, President Bingyi Liu) have announced that they will undertake research concerning a project to deploy ultra high-efficiency small once-through boilers and related technologies in Thailand, as a contractor for the Fiscal 2014 Dissemination and Promotion of Global Warming Countermeasure Technology*2 (Feasibility Studies and Demonstration Projects with the Aim of Developing a JCM) implemented by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (hereafter, NEDO).
Miura submitted proposals in response to the public invitation from NEDO in July 2014 for the FY2014 Dissemination and Promotion of Global Warming Countermeasure Technology Project (Feasibility Studies and Demonstration Projects with the Aim of Developing), and the company was selected as a contractor along with Tepia. The theme of the survey is a project to deploy ultra high-efficiency small once-through boilers and related technologies in Thailand. The research will be completed by the end of February 2015.
Miura will investigate the boiler market in Thailand, and consider the energy saving improvements achievable with Japan’s superior once-through boiler systems, and how they can be deployed. In addition, Miura and Tepia will consider how to apply the JCM system.
In order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in other countries, Miura will offer its technologies as a company that seeks to contribute globally in the field of energy saving and environmental protection.
*1 JCM (Joint Crediting Mechanism)
*2 Dissemination and Promotion of Global Warming Countermeasure Technology: The aim of the project is to implement projects for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, efficiently and effectively, in countries where JCM can be implemented. It seeks to discover specific emission reduction projects in other countries and to provide assistance in establishing them. The project also aims to establish methods for evaluating the deployment, transfer and contribution of relevant technologies, promptly identifying the documents required for considering approaches to financial and other systems for implementing projects. Complementary studies will be implemented in future. (From the NEDO website: http://www.nedo.go.jp/koubo/EX3_100018.html)
