Establishment of a Maintenance branch for Miura’s ship machinery business

MIURA CO.,LTD. (Head Office: Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture, President: Yuji Takahashi), Japan’s leading manufacturer of small once-through boilers, has announced that its Chinese local affiliate, MIURA INDUSTRIES (SUZHOU) CO.,LTD. (Head Office: Suzhou, President: Eiji Suemitsu) has established the Nantong Office in China (Jiangsu Province) as a maintenance branch for ship machinery business overseas. The details of the new office are as follows.

1. Purpose of the establishment
Nantong City (Jiangsu Province) in China is situated on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and is the site of many ship repair and ship machinery companies. It is one of the major ship industry bases within China and there have been an increasing number of foreign vessels entering the docks there. It is not unusual for those vessels to contain Miura products and there is increasing demand in China for maintenance work such as repair work and inspection work for periodic inspections.
In response to this, the company decided to open a Nantong office as a maintenance branch for the ship machinery business. This is the company’s third branch in China, following the Shanghai (opened in October 2014) and Zhoushan office (opened in May 2015).
It is planned that the roles of the new branch will be to strengthen the maintenance of ballast water management system and to improve the periodic inspection work and speedy after-sales service in Chinese docks and ports of call. From now onwards, we will respond to the requirements for maintenance within China while also promoting globalization.
