Miura Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture, President: Yuji Takahashi), Japan’s leading manufacturer of small once-through boilers, has announced the completion of the installation and commissioning test of its HK ballast water management system on the first in-service container ship owned by a major domestic shipowner in Imabari.

In October 2014, Miura Co., Ltd. (hereafter Miura) began sales of its HK ballast water management system.
In July 2015, Miura completed the retrofit installation of an HK-600 ballast water management system on a ship owned by a major shipowner headquartered in Imabari. The installation and commissioning test was conducted at a shipyard in China, timed to coincide with periodical inspection of the vessel.
Miura will continue to retrofit its HK ballast water management system in in-service vessels, contributing to the protection of the global marine environment.
